Get ready for your move

Preparing and packing your valuable belongings is essential to enjoying an affordable and efficient move. Here’s how to get ready for your move.

Prepping your items

Wrapping furniture inside the property is recommended to help eliminate potential damages. This service will add time to the job and may increase cost, and is ultimately the customer’s decision.

Packing the truck

Our 26-ft. trucks fit, on average, a 1400-1600 sq. ft. home. Please note, if a home is packed with an excessive amount of items, this will change. An average truck load takes approximately 5-8 hours from start to finish, although times will vary per move.

Stairs, elevators, and distance to and from the truck will play a part in time of the job. Customer preparedness will help the most with ensuring the job is done as smoothly and quickly as possible. We will work diligently to get the job done in an efficient manner.

Please have ALL items that can be boxed, safely boxed and secured with tape. Also, labeling boxes can help tremendously with the time it takes unloading. You can also place small signs on top of door frames in the new home to match the box labels accordingly (i.e. Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, Play room, Kitchen, Living room, etc.). Placing boxes close to entrances of home and/or garage will also help speed up the moving process.

Please disassemble large furniture (i.e. beds, dresser mirrors, kitchen table, etc) Tip: Pack all hardware collected on disassembly in a small bag (Ziplocs work great), and label the bag to avoid confusion.

Prepare before moving day

Make your move more efficient

The following are some tips for saving time on the move – Prior to crew arrival – These are not required, but will help with the total time of the move.
Pack items and label boxes by room.
Inform crew on the best place to park. Closer to the load/unload site, the quicker the move will be.
Simply put, be ready for us! The more prepared you are, the quicker and cheaper the move will be.
Be available to guide movers during unload. If boxes and rooms in new location are marked, this will help! If someone can be available to guide movers on where boxes/items go, this will also be a big help in ensuring speedy service!
Ensure fuel and oil are removed from gasoline powered tools/equipment.

Disassemble

Disassemble furniture which will need disassembled (ie. Beds, Dresser mirrors, kitchen table, etc) Tip: Pack all hardware collected on disassembly in a small bag (Ziplocs work great), and label the bag to avoid confusion.

Disconnect

Disconnect all appliances and drain water lines (ie. Washer, Dryer, etc.)

Package Everything
